TINAHELY VARIETY GOUP

An explosive, Irish family Christmas is the backdrop for Tinahely Variety Group’s production of Jim O’Hanlon’s ‘The Buddhist of Castleknoc­k’ which will be performed in Tinahely Community Hall from Wednesday, January 17, to Saturday, January 20, with performanc­es nightly from 8 p.m.

Laugh and cry as one family’s traditiona­l, Irish Christmas dinner in Castleknoc­k goes awry with all kinds of comic and dramatic twists and turns.

Booking for each night is essential. Admission is €10, and bookings can be made by calling 087 3582284 from Monday, January 8, Booking hours are from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. only.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Time to get 2018 off to a flier. Indoor plyometric training for athletics (ages 8+) commences on Tuesday, January 9, in the Tinahely Community Hall, School Road, Tinahely every Tue till March 27. RECYCLING CENTRE – NOTE

We would like to remind users due to some confusion recently that we ARE NOT permitted to take any fridges, freezers, cookers, washing machines or driers.

Apologies for any inconvenie­nce caused as the county Council does not permit us to do so. We CAN accept clean, dry card/paper, some metals, some plastics (1-4) and light bulbs.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

If you are living with Depression/Anxiety or any other mental health issue, you may benefit from attending the Tinahely mental health support group. Meetings will take place on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30 p.m. upstairs in the library building in Tinahely. The cost is €5 per session including tea or coffee.
