Coastcare back on Saturday

-

THE next Coastcare cleanup will take place in Bray this Saturday, January 13, from 12 midday to 3 p.m.

Chairman Seamus Connor has thanked all contributors for their support and volunteering efforts throughout 2017.

‘You are playing your part in keeping Bray’s coast clean and beautiful, so thanks a million,’ he said.

During the November cleanup, a group of 12 volunteers collected 10 bags of litter from in and around Bray Head.

Much of this was from a burnt out former camping site, which consisted of melted sleeping bags, tents, floor mats and clothing.

A large quantity of litter, including cans and bottles, was removed from the sea side slopes below the cross on Bray Head.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the Raithin car park on the day of the cleanup. People are urged to come along even if they can only spare an hour. Childdren are welcome with an adult.
