Outing to East Coast Reserve

THE Wicklow branch of BirdWatch Ireland has organised an outing to the East Coast Nature Reserve for later in the month.

The outing on January 20 will also take in parts of the Newcastle coast. The mission is to find wintering wildfowl, waders, birds of prey, gulls and seabirds.

The meeting point will be at the main entrance to the reserve on the Newcastle Sea Road for 10 a.m..

Yesterday, Tuesday, January 9, the branch arranged a public talk by Richard Nairn at the Glenview Hotel. The presentati­on on ‘Dublin Bay: nature and history’ was based on Richard’s new book. Signed copies were also available on the night.
