Bereaved group
Greystones Cancer Support Bereaved Group Meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 24.
The meeting is for those bereaved through cancer in the past two or three years
Sessions are professionally facilitated by Liz Gleeson, who is trained in bereavement work and assistance.
The sessions can be extremely for helpful and everyone will be given a warm welcome.
Carers’ meeting
Greystones Cancer Support’s carers’ meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 17.
The meeting will take place at the La Touche Place Centre at 3.15 p.m.
This special meeting is for those looking after a cancer patient.

Active Retirement
Greystones Active Retirement holds whist every Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. at Kilian House family centre.
Membership payments and bookings for all events takes place at Kilian House on Tuesdays from 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
Badminton club
Bray Greystones badminton club welcomes new players every Thursday night at eight o’clock in BIFE Novara Road Bray. Beginners and back to badminton players welcome.
Family badminton every Sunday from four till six Adults and children welcome.

Children’s storytime
The popular children’s storytime has moved to the slightly later time of 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday mornings at Greystones Library.
The session is suitable for babies up to children aged six years.
All are welcome to come along for some super stories as well as the chance to meet other parents and carers. No booking is required.
Newcastle Market
The regular Saturday morning market takes place at Newcastle Community Centre.
The market will be on from 10.30 a.m. to 12 midday with fresh vegetables and produce available.
HolyRosary choir
Holy Rosary Choir is returning from holidays and needs new members.
The choir sings at 6 p.m. Mass in the Holy Rosary Church on the first and third Saturday of the month.

Holy Rosary parish social, hobby and craft afternoon will and take place on the first Sunday of each month.
The event will take place at Kilian House Family Centre from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. each month.

Dementia Friends
Greystones Dementia Friends is a local group for those caring for someone with dementia.
The group meets every Friday morning in the St Patrick’s Parish Hall at 11 a.m. The group would love to welcome anyone caring for those with dementia.
Memory Lane is a new music group for people with Alzheimer’s or their Carers. Singing is not only an enjoyable activity, it can help those with dementia.
They and their Carers can express themselves and socialise with others in a fun and supportive group.
Join Memory Lane each Friday morning at St Patrick’s Parish Centre, from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Greystones Men’s Shed is open at the first Wicklow Scout Hall on Church Road.

Greystones Tidy Towns is setting up a junior tidy towns committee.
The committee will Qbe established this September with local secondary and primary schools.
They are looking for one or two people to help as school liaisons.

Christmas treedisposal
Trees can be left for shredding at the south beach car park, in front of the Greystones Municipal District offices until January 13.
No wreaths, plastic trees or decorations.
Soupand sandwiches
Soup and sandwiches will be served at St Patrick’s Parish Centre on Tuesday, January 16, from 12.30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
A suggested donation of €5 will go to charity.
Alphacourse
Ever wanted to explore the meaning of life? Or ask challenging questions about the Christian faith? An Alpha Course will take place in Greystones Presbyterian Church, Trafalgar Road, beginning Thursday, January 18, and running for 10 weeks. (7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m).
Alpha is a series of interactive ses- sions, with food, videos and group discussion. It is fun, relaxed and totally no pressure. Alpha is for anybody, any age, any belief or none. There is no charge to do Alpha.

NoWiFi screening
NoWiFi present a screening of selected short films at Whale Theatre on Saturday, January 20.
NoWifi, North Wicklow Filmmakers, was established in late 2016.
The group is made up primarily of cast and crew drawn from Bray to Arklow. Many of those involved are graduates of various film schools or working as full time actors.
In the past few months six of their members have been working on Vikings series six in various departments.
In 2018 the group will be working on a new web series and submitting some of their work that is currently in post production to film festivals.
Pre production work will also commence on a feature film to shoot in 2019.

Pierce Turner will perform at the Hot Spot Music Club on Friday, February 23 at 8 p.m.

Wexford native turner is a singer-songwriter.
After forming a duo with Larry Kirwan he went solo in the mid-1980s and has since released several albums to critical acclaim.

Greystones Orchestra present ‘A Midwinter’s Night Dream’ at Whale Theatre on Saturday, January 27.

Savour the deep-hued resonance of the clarinet as local musician Robert Clarke performs a selection from Finzi’s Five Bagatelles, with chamber orchestra. Listen spellbound as special guest soprano Katy Kelly joins the orchestra to sing Mozart.
A regular performer at The National Concert Hall in Dublin, Katy will perform arias from The Marriage Of Figaro, The Magic Flute and beyond.
