The seniors travelled to Rathnew on Sunday to take on the home team in the Quarter Final of the Divisional Cup and emerged 3-2 winners after a thrilling battle. The Glens trailed 0-1 before Sam O’Callaghan coolly curled a shot into the corner of the net and then Simon Doyle slotted away a penalty after a great Glens attack resulted in Nathan Watters been chopped down and it was 2-1 at the break. The second half was an edgy affair before Dean McCormack added a third but Rathnew rallied with a stunning goal but some quality defending resulted in the Glens holding on for a super win. All 13 players used on the day were excellent.

On a sad note, everyone at Glencormac United would like to express their sympathy to the clubs fantastic chairman Christy Devlin on the sad loss of his beloved brother Seán Devlin last week. Seán was an absolute gentleman and while his football career ended at about 16 due to a bruised toe we are informed, he was a great supporter of the club in all fundraisers and will be remembered fondly by us all. Our deepest sympathy goes to his wife Peggy and sons Alan and Derek, grandchildren and extended family. Rest in Peace Seán.
