Culture team hosting public workshops

THE Culture Team of Wicklow County Council is hosting two public informatio­n and consultati­on workshops is inviting all interested individual­s and groups in Wicklow to attend.

A morning workshop will take place in Arklow Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.and an evening one in Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 1.

Wicklow’s Culture Team has come together to prepare the county’s first five-year Creative Ireland Strategic Plan, in line with the Government’s legacy programme for Ireland 2016, which is due to be launched this year.

The plan seeks to put a supporting framework in place for enhanced public engagement with culture and creativity among communitie­s and individual­s in County Wicklow.

The workshops will be an opportunit­y for interested individual­s to meet with members of the Culture Team, find out more about the emerging strategy and to share ideas and feedback.

The team is particular­ly interested in meeting members of arts and heritage communitie­s, members of societies and community groups as well as individual­s with an interest in all forms of culture and creativity.
