Enniskerry Junior Footballer­s are away to Shillelagh in the first league game of the year next week. The league games were drawn up by Leinster Council for all Divisions together with championsh­ip ties for 2018.

St Mary’s: Confession­s are held after 10.15 a.m. Mass on Saturday morning. Exposition of Blessed Sacrament after 10.15 a.m. Prayer Service each Friday morning. The Rosary is recited each morning at 9.55 a.m. in the Prayer Room. The Rosary Group meet on first Monday of each month.

ACCORD

The annual collection for ACCORD – the Diocesan Agency for Marriage and the family, will be taken up at all Masses on the weekend of Saturday, February 17, and Sunday, February 18. The collection for ACCORD will replace the usual SHARE collection.

Baptism: Baptisms will be held in St Mary’s on Sunday, February 11, and on Saturday, March 11, in St Mochonog’s. If you wish to book a baptism please phone parish office at least two weeks beforehand.

Legion of Mary – Kilmacanog­ue Presidium: Meet at 11.30 a.m. every Tuesday in the sacristy of St Mochonog’s. New members are most welcome. Group recite the Rosary on the first Saturday of each month at midday at the Grotto in the church grounds. Visit legionofma­ry.ie to view website.

HISTORY SOCIETY

Chris Corlett will be the guest speaker for the Thursday, February 8, 8.30 p.m. meeting of the Enniskerry History Society at which he will present his lecture ‘Powerscour­t in the Middle Ages’ in the Powerscour­t Arms and Country House Hotel in the village. All welcome to attend – admission €5.

Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has launched a ‘winter of Heritage’ programme which runs from January Monday, February 22, to Sunday, February 18, offering free tours of Cabinteely House, James Joyce Tower and Museum, Marlay House, and the Oratory, Dún Laoghaire, plus lectures in Marlay House on Wednesdays January 31, February 7, February 14, and February 21 which must be booked in advance. ENNISKERRY LIBRARY

The new opening hours for the refurbishe­d library are – Tuesday and Friday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., and Saturday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. New members to the library are always very welcome. WALKING ASSOCIATIO­N

The Enniskerry Walking Associatio­n was formed in 2004 to protect traditiona­l walking routes in the area and to promote walking for recreation, for health, as a safe alternativ­e to car use, and to help us all to learn more about our locality.

Our popular Tuesday evening walks usually meet at the Spar in Enniskerry at 7 p.m. while the Saturday walks meet at 1.30 p.m. All, who are interested, adults or children, are most welcome. Walks vary in length but most last between one-and-a half and two-and-a-half hours; some (but not all) involve a bit of climbing. Please wear appropriat­e warm and rain-proof clothing, and proper walking boots for the occasional muddy or rocky track. In the interests of walker’s comfort and safety participan­ts are asked to respect the directions of the walk leader and stay between the leader and the anchor person.

This Saturday the walk is from Kilmashogu­e to Fairy Castle and Three Rock, duration 2½ hours. Meet outside Spar, 1.30 p.m. or meet at entrance to Kilmashogu­e Wood Kilmashogu­e Lane at 2 p.m.

Please note these walks are a community activity organised by volunteers who accept no liability for injuries or loss caused to participan­ts in any of the above walks. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is closed for lunch between 12.30 p.m and 1.15 p.m.

INDOOR BOWLS

Bowls takes place every Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. in St Patrick’s/Forrester’s Hall. New members are welcome.

PARENT/TODDLER GROUP

All are welcome to come along to the parent and toddler group at the community centre from 10.30 p.m. to midday every Wednesday. €2 per child.

BINGO

Bingo is held on Monday nights in St Patrick’s Hall at 8 p.m. Everybody is welcome.
