Students at St Kilian’s used unusual items to create fashion for their entries into this year’s ‘Junk Kouture’ competition.

This is the fourth year that the school has participated in the competition. The students have created avant-garde wearable art for the competition and hope to make it all the way to the top in this year’s event.

Teenagers have been tasked to make works of art and high fashion from items that would otherwise be considered junk.

The rules stipulate that designs must be made from reworked trash or other used materials that are beyond their intended purpose.

The top 160 designers from Leinster will perform in the regional finals in the Helix in March. Registration closed last week and the young designers met their deadline.
