Voices of Bray Community Choir presents €3,500 to local Lions Club

-

FOLLOWING a sell-out concert in December held in St Fergal’s Church, Voices of Bray Community Choir presented a cheque for €3,500 to Bray Lions Club. Past Presidents of the club, John McEvoy and Jerry Teehan, were delighted to receive the donation following the success of the night and said that the funds would be put to good use in the local Bray area.

With a membership of over 130, Voices of Bray Community Choir is one of the largest choirs in Ireland. Since its formation in 2013, the choir has raised almost €40,000 through its performances. Previous local beneficiaries have included Sunbeam House, WH Five Loaves and Bray Women’s Refuge to name a few.

The choir, under the direction of conductor and founder John Ivory, has another busy season ahead with three concerts scheduled in the Mermaid Theatre from June 7 to 9.

Work is already under way preparing new songs for these shows for which beneficiaries will be announced in the coming few months. Tickets go on sale during April directly from the Theatre Box Office. As always, the choir is very thankful for the ongoing support from the local community.
