Connolly added as speaker at Laragh GAA event
LARAGH GAA’S hugely interesting fundraising event entitled ‘An Evening with the Dubs’ is getting closer, with a large crowd expected in Lynham’s of Laragh on Friday night week, February 9, from 7.30pm.
Already featuring several massive names from within Dublin GAA, there was big news last weekend when the name of one of the best footballers of his generation, Diarmuid Connolly, was added to the list along with Pat Gilroy and Micky Whelan.
“In conjunction with the joint fundraiser various mini-fundraising events are underway ahead of the show night in late February,” said an organiser.
“However, there is a particular event that should be of interest to the football and hurling mentors, coaches, players and followers of Wicklow.
“The organisers behind this event have went the extra mile to do something different, to give interest and something back to the attendees and most of all to promote football, hurling and sport in general not only in our community but throughout Wicklow.
“With this in mind we ask you to endorse this event on behalf of Laragh GAA and encourage attendance by all Wicklow sport- ing advocates.
“This is a really big event for us and to think this incredible man is coming to our little village is unbelievable.
“However, we have seen the confirmation and we are very excited about it.
We understand that Pat Gilroy will be speaking about his experiences throughout his career and the planning, preparation and execution method he uses to gain his many successes,” they added.
