Resource Centre is getting a Lidl help

-

BRAY Family Resource Centre is one of a number of community groups in the area to get surplus food from Lidl. Lidl Ireland has signed the Food Waste Forum Charter as part of the Retail Action Group for Food Waste.

The charter sees the supermarket commit to reduce food waste through the redistribution of surplus food. The store has rolled out a national food redistribution programme called Lidl Feed it Back to all 153 stores and three warehouses in the country. Food waste will be reduced through the donation of surplus food to local charities. Bray Family Resource Centre thanked the staff at Lidl Bray, saying that the money saved from the surplus food donations had made a massive impact on the day to day running of the charity. ‘We would like to say a huge thanks to the staff in Lidl Bray store for their continued support and contribution to our organisation,’ they said. ‘ This donations support us to relocate funding that would otherwise have been spent on food, towards other essential and core services such as homework support, education and parenting programmes and general intensive supports to families.’
