A lorra laughs to be expected at festival

TWO members of the Hardy Bucks have been announced as special support guests at this year’s Bray Comedy Festival.

Owen Colgan and Martin Maloney, better known to Hardy Bucks fans as Buzz McDonnell and Eddie Durkan, will be very special guest support acts at Steve Frost’s Comedy Improv with Dermot Whelan.

Owen has amassed a huge cult following with his viral videos clocking up millions of views and Martin is not only a top comedic talent but has an impressive acting background including an appearance alongside Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) in feature film ‘Gold’ and continued work in smash hit television series ‘Vikings’.

The festival starts on Wednesday, February 14, and goes on to Sunday, February 18, with shows in venues across the town including The Harbour Bar, The Martello, The Esplanade, the Town Hall, Dockyard, and Signal Arts Centre.

The line-up, put together by Adam Burke of Hardy Har Comedy Club, includes The Rubber Bandits; Karl Spain’s ‘Load of Carp’ at Bray’s Sea Life; Steve Frost’s Comedy Improv with special guest Dermot Whelan; That’s Savage Ted! with Joe Rooney, Pat McDonnell, John Colleary and Gar Murran; Laughter Yoga; Punch Lion Kids Comedy; Science Magic with Donal Vaughan in Bray’s Town Hall (so good it sold out twice last year) and Laughter Lounge’s Steve Cummins Legends of Lounge with Totally Wired, Paul Marsh and Paul Currie.

Making their festival circuit debuts - Aidan Greene and his ‘500 Days of Stammer’, Diane O’Connor, divulging all about ‘Breastfeed­ing Al Fresco’ and Martin Angolo’s ‘Jokes About Buildings and Other Things’.

There will be discounts at Bray Bowl for those who quote ‘Bray Comedy Festival’. Deals include €3 per game at certain times, and great discounts.
