How to look after the pearly whites

-

CHILDREN at Cuala Montessori in Bray learned all about how to look after their teeth last week.

There were 15 boys and girls and some parents at the visit. Dental nurse Katie Coughlan showed them how to brush their teeth correctly.

They played a game where Katie asked them which food was bad or good for their teeth.

Children and parents alike were shocked to hear how bad raisins are for their teeth!

They learned how much sugar is in each breakfast cereal, as Katie had made a chart showing exactly how many spoonfuls were in each.

The children really enjoyed it, and were delighted with their free tube of toothpaste to bring home.

As part of becoming a ‘Healthy Ireland’ pre-school service, Cuala is helping to support the children’s learning around oral health.

To that end, they held an oral health week with Katie’s visit the highlight.
