Derry’s Charolais cross is champion
CARNEW Mart held their 37th Annual Show and Sale of bullocks and bulls last week.
The Champion of the Show was won by Derry Rothwell from Tinahely, who had a superb Charolais cross Belgian Blue Bull, weighing 994kg, which was sold for €2,900. It was purchased by Tom Boland of Liffey Meats in Hacketstown.
There was 940 head of cattle, which met a brisk trade with a full clearance. It was a super selection of quality beef and store cattle.
