Parish Pastoral Council: At the PPC meeting last Tuesday week night Fr Bernard gave some initial feedback from the Parish Questionnaire. The 73 responses were very positive though it was disappointing that only three offered to serve on parish com- mittees/groups. To take the burden off our parish secretaries the PPC agreed that we should look for a ‘volunteer’ with appropriate experience who would act as our editor/coordinator.

FIRST RESPONDERS

Enniskerry Cardiac First Responders have five lifesaving defibrillators in the area which it is felt will leave the area well cov- ered for upcoming emergencies. The defibrillators were all purchased through fundraising and local donations.

The first is located in the Powerscourt Arms in the village and will soon be moved outside to a heated cabinet at the entrance to Enniskerry Physiotherapy/Doctors surgery between Magee’s Pharmacy and Magpie Books. The second is located in a cabinet outside St Patrick’s National School in Curtlestown; the third is located outside Keegan’s Farm near Powerscourt Waterfall; the fourth is located in the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation and will be moved to a heated cabinet outside the centre in the near future. The fifth will soon be installed in a heated cabinet in Ballycoyle between Glencree Village and Crone Wood.

CHAIR.

Pat Carey believes that these defibrillators will make Enniskerry and the valley more able to deal with an emergency as any member of the public can access this lifesaving equipment strategically placed by our volunteers to help with response times. It is vital that everyone living and working in the area take note of where they are.

Enniskerry CFR train monthly and are looking for volunteers in Enniskerry and the surrounding areas to join. They promote CPR and AED training plus funding for AEDs for the entire community. There is also training for people in the community who may be interested in learning CPR skills. For more information contact Pat Carey at 086 2564468 or email enniskerrycfr@gmail.com.

THANK YOU

St Catherine’s Special School Newcastle parents’ association would like to say a big thank you to the people of Enniskerry for supporting their Strictly Come Dancing night in Killiney Castle Hotel last November.

It was a wonderful evening made possible by those who participated in the dancing, local businesses and individuals who supported the event by attending on the evening, buying raffle tickets, donating prizes and cash, and particularly sponsoring the Dancers. We are delighted to announce that we raised €54,000 which will go towards the cost of building a new playground for the children of St Catherine’s. It yet again shows the value of living in a very caring community. We are all very grateful for your support.

Sincere thanks to the participants of the Doran Family golf classic for their very generous contribution to St Catherine’s Special Needs School and Enniskerry Community Games. Your support is much appreciated.
