MOTHER CHARGED WITH ASSAULT ON CHILD

Shankill woman’s daughter remains in critical condition

A WOMAN in her 40s has been charged with assault causing serious injury following an incident involving her three-year-old daughter.

The woman, with an address in Shankill, appeared at a special sitting of Bray District Court on Sunday night at 8 p.m.

She was remanded in custody to appear again before Judge David Kennedy on Thursday, February 15. Appropriate medical treatment was ordered for the defendant.

The alleged assault occurred at a house in Shankill on Saturday afternoon. The woman was arrested at the scene.

The child remains in critical but stable condition in hospital. She was taken from the scene to Crumlin Children’s Hospital by ambulance with a garda escort. She is understood to be
