Jack delves into the past for ‘Memories are Made of This’

JACK Finlay, a Tullamore man who choose to make Bray his second home in 1973, launched his book ‘Memories Are Made Of This’ recently in Bray Golf Club.

There was a very large turnout of family, friends and members of Bray Golf Club to support Jack on this very special occasion.

He personalised each copy of his book as he reminisced with guests on the night.

‘Memories Are Made Of This’ gives an insight into Ireland during the 1940s, ’50s ’60s and ’70s.

It is a personal account, which is highly influenced by Jack’s involvement in the GAA, business and the music scene, and offers a perspective into the social, political, sport and business life of the times.

The shooting of his uncle Jack sets the remarkable story in motion and, together with his accounts of frequent forays into Northern Ireland during the height of the Troubles, makes for very enjoyable reading.
