Hollywood GAA will hold a Child Welfare Briefing and Membership Registrati­on on Sunday, February 25, at 2 pm in the clubhouse.

Attendance at the Child Welfare briefing is mandatory for all parents of Juvenile members.

Registrati­on will be held on the same day and membership rates are the same as last year.

ENNISKERRY

Men’s Update: Under the guidance of Tom Taylor for the year, the men will face Shillelagh away on Sunday morning at 11am in the opening of their 2018 league campaign.

Juvenile Update: Training will commence on Friday, March 3, at 7pm at the pitch, all welcome from the age of 3-12.

Fitness Class: Our free fitness classes are now into their fourth week with two more remaining, every Monday at 7.30pm in the club gym. All welcome.

National Club Draw tickets: Thanks to everyone who bought National Draw tickets over the last number of weeks, the club raised over €1,200 in ticket sales which we will use to buy new equipment for the upcoming season with a particular focus on new equipment for the younger age groups.

NEWTOWN

Newtown GAA extend deepest sympathy to Dominic Leech and family on the recent passing of his father, Des. May he rest in peace.

Online football training courses and associated practical sessions are scheduled for February 17 in different areas around the county.If you or someone you know is thinking of getting involved in the juveniles then this is a good place to start.

You will first need to register on the E-learning GAA website http://learning.gaa.ie Please not this will not open on I-Phone or I-Pad.

Coaches must complete all sections of the theory online as well as attend a practical session to receive certificat­ion.

The seniors returned to training last week and a have their first challenge game of the season this coming Tuesday 13th against Tinahely at home.

Four people took home €50 each after matching three numbers, the lotto jackpot rolled over €4,400 on numbers 4, 5, 18, and 27.

ANNACURRA

On Saturday night last, the club enjoyed a good night in the Saltee. Liam Keating kindly presented the Keating Trophy medals to the Senior footballer­s. The annual awards were also announced.

Alan Nolan is the club person of the year. Paul McDonald is the Senior player of the year. Gearoid Murphy is young player and John O’Neill is the Junior player of the year.

AVONDALE

Our Lotto draw took place in Jacobs well on Tuesday, February 6. There was no jackpot winner. The numbers drawn were 5, 8,19, and 27. There were however nine match three winners: Willie Barrett, Trish and Caleb, Trish Kavanagh, Andrew Curley, Helena Kennedy, Mary Byrne, David Gillespie, Brian Windsor, Mikie Sheehan.

Next draw takes place on Tuesday, February 13, in the Corner House at 9.30pm. Tickets available from most local businesses. Thanks all for your continued support. Next jackpot is 1,700.

We now have a defibrilla­tor placed in the main hallway of the GAA complex. This is an important life saving device that must be respected by all. We are looking for members or managers who would be interested in being trained in the use of this machine to attend a course in the near future. Registrati­on night for both juvenile and senior players takes place Wednesday, February 14, between 7.30 and 9pm. Our all new family discount is now available on registrati­on night only, so looking forward to seeing everyone there.

AGB

AGB’s registrati­on day for our 2018 season took place last Saturday. A very successful day saw many sign up for the new season. A special thank you to St Mary’s for allowing us hold the event there. We look forward to getting started, and an exciting season ahead.

AGB will host their annual dinner dance on Saturday, February 24, in the Arklow Bay Hotel at 7.30pm. A great night of entertainm­ent is planned and there will be a celebratio­n of the 2017 season. AGB’s complex in Ballymoney, Shelton, will be open on Friday, March 16, at 8pm for a traditiona­l Irish night of music and entertainm­ent. All are welcome to attend.

LARAGH

Senior training continues every Tuesday and Thursdays at 8pm. Everyone make a big effort attend both nights.

Our first league game is this Saturday away to Donard at 6.30pm. It would be great to see some support on the night.

A special word of thanks to all who attended ‘An Evening With The Dubs’. It was a great night even without Pat Gilroy who sent his apologies after getting stranded in London.

But Mikey Whelan and Diarmaid Connolly were well able to handle all the questions.

Then, on Saturday, we held Laragh’s Blind Date. This was one of the best nights in a long time with plenty of laughs on the night. We thank all the contestant­s and all who purchased tickets. Well done to all involved.

As everyone knows by know we’re holding a major fundraiser StrictkyLi­pSync Laragh.

This is a joint venture with Scoil Chaoimhin Naofa this event is getting very close its on Saturday, February 24, in Roundwood tickets are limited and selling fast so order yours ASAP.

All the contestant­s and committees are putting in a savage amount of time and effort so please get out and support them.

So far they’ve had numerous events and without all your support this would be impossi- ble to go ahead. There not over yet see below for some very good nights ahead.

On February 14 there is a Rainbow Run starting at Scoil Chaoimhin Naofa.

Valentine’s disco on February 15 from 2-4pm in Lynam’s Hotel function room. Then on night Friday 16th in the Glendaloug­h Hotel we will hold a karaoke night this promises to a great night.

Saturday, February 17, in Lynham’s lobby were holding a Past and Present Laragh GAA players night. This has been organised by Brian and Marie we will have the great Jimmy Dunne in attendance.

Jimmy will no doubt have all the details of Laragh’s history over the years. This is a great opportunit­y for the ex players to meet the present Junior ‘A’ champions. This all kicks off at 8.30pm.

Also on sale are 2018 calendars contact any school or GAA member for one. These are something you can’t miss out on some excellent photos.

Classic car rally on in Laragh’s GAA grounds on February 18 from noon. Refreshmen­ts served on the day.

ST PATRICK’S

The St Patrick’s annual dinner will take place in the Grand Hotel, Wicklow, on Saturday, February 24. All members past and present welcome!

Dinner 8pm sharp (Doors open 7.30pm) with music by Quest for Ted till late. Ticket price €35.

Congratula­tions to Lucy Dunne who is the county under-16 captain, a great honour.

Well done to the county footballer­s who earned a well-deserved draw in Antrim in the third round of the Allianz League on Sunday in Corrigan Park; especially our own Dean Healy, John Crowe and Conor Ffrench.

Hard luck to the county hurlers who were unlucky in the Kehoe Cup final in Pearse Park, Longford against Longford with the minimum between both sides in what was Longford’s maiden success in the tournament; especially our own John Connors, Gerry Connors, George O’Brien, Shane Doyle and Michael Connors.

Another disappoint­ing weekend for the Wicklow ladies as their Ladies Division 4 League match away to Limerick has been called off due to a heavy fall of snow, following a walk over from Kilkenny the previous week.

Our Under-15s make the long trip to Ballylinan GAA Club in Laois on a cold Sunday afternoon and put in a spirited performanc­e playing good football but the result did not go our way. Well done to all involved.

One will take place in Baltinglas­s GAA Grounds on February 13 and the other will take place in Pearse’s Park, Arklow, on the February 15. STRATFORD-GRANGECON

The lotto numbers for last weeks draw were 02, 10, 16, and 20. There was no jackpot winner.

We had a mega turnout for the AGM today compared to previous years. Your eyes are not deceiving you when you read that we have not one but two people willing to take on some of the roles and share them. This is so encouragin­g and all bodes well for the future of the club.

There is a lot of passion for our club but also a lot of work to do. So now we need to push forward, get everyone settled into their roles, push on with playing GAA and making our small club great.

The four main officers as listed on the GAA Club Officers manuals were filled by the following people:

Intermedia­te Football - Our Intermedia­te team played Hollywood last Sunday in a challenge match in Tinahely. A mighty performanc­e by everyone. We now look forward to our opening game of the league on Saturday evening against Annacurra. This is a home game so you’re support would be greatly appreciate­d.

BRAY EMMETS

We would like to offer Jackie Napier and his family our heartfelt congratula­tions on receiving the GAA’s President’s Award for his service to club and county at a gala ceremony in Croke Park on Friday last.

Your club membership is now due for 2018. The Coffee Shop on Saturday mornings is in desperate need of volunteers. If you’re free just pop up to the clubhouse on Saturday morning between 10-1pm. Even if you can spare an hour it would be very much appreciate­d. It’s great fun and we promise not to take it too seriously .

The club shop has new club gear from Power On Sports. in stock. We have a small supply of the rain jacket and training top in stock and the bottoms are due in early February. The club shop is open every Saturday morning from 10.30am.

BE FIT (Bray Emmets Fun in Training) is backwith a variety of indoor and outdoor circuits, army style obstacle course, Pilates, yoga and aerobics. Every Tuesday and Friday 7-8pm.
