St Kevin’s rule the roost in Aughrim

THE finals of the Post Primary schools first year indoor hurling championsh­ip took place in Aughrim Community Centre on Monday last.

The qualifying rounds had taken place in Dunlavin and Avondale with five teams qualifying for the finals.

The teams involved in the finals were Arklow CBS, Coláiste Chill Mhántain, Avondale CC and 2 teams from St Kevin’s CC Dunlavin.

All the games were evenly contested but it was St Kevin’s and Avondale that qualified for the final.

Victory went to the Dunlavin school by three goals to one. The winning captain Matt Miley was presented with the trophy after the game.

Well done to GDA Jonathan Tallon for not only organising the competitio­n but also for refereeing all the games.
