Ash Wednesday Mass
There will be a Mass taking place today (Wednesday the 14th) in St Mochonog’s Church for Ash Wednesday. It will begin at 11:30 so please try attend if possible. pulled one back with a super free kick. But then another sloppy goal just before half time saw the Glens trail 3-1 as Newtown seemed to be first to everything. The Glens were missing the absence of their skipper and power house Dylan Henry but some strong words at halftime were spoken and the lads came out a totally different team in the second half and dominated from the start of the second half to the finish and John Fox, who we had to play outfield in Dylan’s absence scored two goal to leave the tie evenly balanced going into the second leg this weekend. Best on the day for the glens were Luke Kelly, Euan Bowman and Jamie Grehan.
The senior team were in league action on Sunday when they faced Ashford Rovers and recorded a 6-0 win. Sam Kerr hit two with James Delahunty also hitting the net with a stunning strike but it was a great day for the O’Callaghan family also as all three brothers, Luke, Ben and Sam were all on target. Luke had a great game along with Stephen Kirwin, Sam Kerr and Mark Delahunty.
