Three soccer teams were playing on Sunday

Three teams were in action last Sunday.

The under-12s had a Shield Final from last year to play on Sunday morning away to Roundwood. In very tough conditions with high winds, this tie is neatly balanced going into the second leg next weekend at 1-1. The glens goal was scored by Finn Kelly in first half with Roundwood grabbing a late equalizer with five minutes to go.

It was a siege on the Glencormac goal in second half as Roundwood fought to get back into the tie and the young glens did well to last that long without conceding. It could have been worst after the equaliser only for an amazing save from Denis Breetveld in the very last minute which kept it level for the winner takes it all second leg this weekend.

The under-14s also had a Shield Final carried over from last season and drew the first leg 3-3 with Newtown at home on Sunday morning. John Fox got two goals with Luke Kelly also on the scoresheet. The Glens started off very slowly and in the first half and found themselves 2-0 down till Luke
