GAA ENNISKERRY

Junior Footballer­s start their 2018 Season on Sunday next in Shillelagh against the Locals in the Division of the County Ieague. The Black and Amber team hope to start with a win. Hopefully the two recent challenge games will have helped the panel.

THE LATE RAY DOYLE

The death took place recently of Enniskerry resident Ray Doyle after a long ilness. A Rathnew man through and through and a Liverpool Soccer Fan were the sporting highlights of his life. He helped to keep Killgarron Park neat and tidy for years.

DARTS

The second round of matches. In the Boro League got under way on Tuesday night with an away fixture. The Powerscour­t team had a great run in the first session and will be up there at the top come May.

Convention­al, vintage, Classic Tractor and Horse Classes will be catered for on Lea ground. MASS OF REMEMBRANC­E

The annual Mass of remembranc­e for parishione­rs and family members of parishione­rs, who died since March last year, and whose funerals took place outside the parish, will take place on Saturday, February 24, at 6 p.m.

ROUNDWOOD MEN’S SHED

Roundwood Men’s Shed: Following our most recent series of digital lessons one of our Shedders has decided to take his fully charged mobile with him when he completes the life marathon which we have referred to in the past. The phone will be taken with him to the grave and when he gets to the ‘other side’ he will be able to communicat­e with the Shedders down on earth and fill them in on the good life up above. ‘That is not going to happen’, one of the Shed wits commented,’ because with the phone melting in the flames, there’ll be no signal coming from where you’re going’. As well as the tea and cake and biscuits, there is regular banter in the Shed at the gatherings on Tuesdays between 10 and 12. You will be assured of a warm welcome if you come along.

CEILI DANCING LESSONS

Adult ceili dancing classes are held every Wednesday night in the parish hall from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Learn to solo dance and also group dances under the tuition of Aoife, Cian and Eimear and have great fun learning.
