Barry beset by more injury woes

-

JUST 10 days after seemingly putting his injury-hell behind him, Barry Corr found himself on the sidelines once again on Saturday.

Newcastle native Corr had been without a club since being released at the end of the 2017/18 season by Cambridge United. In January, the League Two club offered the 32-year-old a sliver of hope with a three-week non-contract offer which saw Corr as a substitute three times for United.

Having proved his fitness, Corr was offered a contract until the end of the season on February 6th and was handed a starting berth on Saturday for the home clash with against Grimsby Town.

Corr, who notched 14 goals in 29 appearances in first spell with Cambridge, set-up the first goal before hobbling off before the end of the first half with a groin problem.

Cambridge hosted Notts County yesterday (Tueaday, February 20) evening but Corr was expected to sit out.

United manager Joe Dunne does not expect to be without Corr for long though.

“He just felt a bit stiff in the groin, just a touch. But that’s understandable - we don’t know the severity but we wouldn’t want to take any chances. Hopefully he’ll still be available for us under time but that’s down to the medical staff,” Dunne said.
