Annual Register of Vestry Persons: Every year we revise our register of parishione­rs. If you are new to the parish, or have reached the age of 18, you are entitled to become a registered member of the parish. This entitles you to vote at the annual Easter Vestry meeting. To register, please fill out a form available from the church Wardens (the form will also be available on your service sheet. The current list is available to review at the back of the church. You do not have to register if your name is on the list.

Youth Club: Junior Shack for Primary School Children meet every Saturday from 6.15 p.m. to 7.15 p.m. up to the end of June. Senior Shack for Secondary School Students up to age 17 meets on Saturdays as advertised from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. If interested contact Rev Martin O’Kelly 087 2486368. Date for the Diary: Classical Piano Delights at Tinakily takes place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, in Tinakily Country House with Deborah Armstrong, back by popular demand. Tickets €25, which cover the recital and afternoon tea, are available from the parish office, Fleurtique, and the Travel Boutique.

HOLY REDEEMER PARISH

Lenten Talks: Fr John, Fr Ben and their team invite you to join them for a series of four talks this Lent. The topics covered will be as follows: Mark’s Gospel (as this is the year of Mark), The Passion, The Paschal Mystery, Why did Jesus die?, and the Resurrecti­on. This will take place.

on Thursdays March 1, eighth, 15th and 22nd in the Side Chapel of the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. nightly (prompt start and finish). Quiet Space: An experience of guided prayer started in Loreto Convent starting last Monday and will continue throughout the five weeks of Lent. It will consist of one half-hour meeting on one day each week at a time to be arranged with you. Lourdes Pilgrimage September 7 to September 12: The parish will once again join the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes in September. The fully inclusive price is €739 – Single Room Supplement is €155 – €180 and is subject to availabili­ty. Instalment­s accepted. National Collection for the World Meeting of Families 2018: The third National Collection to support the World Meeting of families will take place this weekend at all Masses and will replace the Share collection. Your support is greatly appreciate­d.

Confirmati­on: The next preparatio­n Mass ‘ Think Again.’ will take place this Sunday the 25th at 11.30 a.m.

Women’s World Day of Prayer: Prepared by women of Suriname with the theme ‘All God’s Creation Is Very Good’ takes place in St Peter’s Church. Little Bray, on Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m. Refreshmen­ts available afterwards in the Parish Centre.

Young at Heart Dinners: Young at Heart dinners will now resume on Friday, March 2, at 12.30 p.m.

Bray and Enniskerry Pastoral Area Early Morning Mass: In addition to the normal weekday Mass time in St Fergal’s, Holy Redeemer, Queen of Peace and St Mary’s Enniskerry, Mass will be celebrated at 7.30 a.m. Mon- day to Friday in St Fergal’s during Lent.

Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes: Bookings for our Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes are now being taken in Villa Pacis (weekdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.).

Church Cleaners: We are in need of cleaners for the church for Wednesdays 11 a.m. to midday. Please contact the sacristy at 01 2723865.

QOP YOUTH CLUB

There are lots of vacancies in the Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club for boys and girls aged 10 and over. The club programme includes a night walk, a mountain climb, a swim night, football, and one indoor night each month. From May to the end of September all kinds of water sports take place on Tuesdays. Other activities include visits to places of interest in Dublin, hostelling, camping, and more. To join call Paul at 01 2869264, and let the adventure begin.

DIVING CLUB

Bray Divers are now ready to train two new scuba divers. The course will include two nights of lectures, and two sessions of swimming pool training. After that the sea training begins, and the new members are expected to be scuba divers before Easter. Last year the club organised 140 dives, and in this year to date members have participat­ed in 15 dives ranging down to 20 metres deep. For informatio­n call Albert at 087 6756439. Felix Larkin was the guest speaker last Thursday night’s February 8 p.m. meeting of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, in the Royal Hotel, Bray, at which he presented his lecture – ‘Two Gentleman of the Freeman: Thomas Sexton and William Braydon’, two Bray men who had links to this newspaper, in the Royal Hotel, Main Street, Bray, Co. Wicklow. Joan Kavanagh will be the guest speaker for the Thursday, March 15, 8 p.m. meeting of the society in the Royal Hotel, Bray, at which she will present her lecture ‘ Glendaloug­h through the eyes of a camera’ – all welcome, visitors €5.

WOMEN’S BARBERSHOP

Serendipit­y Women’s Barbershop Chorus is recruiting new members for 2018 and meets on Wednesdays from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Epworth Hall, Florence Road, Bray. IRISH GERMAN SOCIETY

The next meeting of the Irish-German Society will take place this coming Monday at 7.30 p.m. in Bray Town Hall. The Guest Speaker will be Archbishop Diarmuid Martin Archbishop of Dublin and Glendaloug­h.

Dr Martin was a guest of the diocese of Wurzburg during the Kiliani Fest in July 2017 and he gave a talk on ‘The Challenge for the church in the 21st Century’ so we are delighted that the Archbishop has accepted our invitation to speak at our next general meeting.
