House demolition vote deferred for a month

-

A vote on whether to demolish St Paul’s Lodge in Bray has been deferred. Members of Wicklow County Council were to vote on the matter at a meeting in county buildings on Monday, March 5.

The proposed demolition is to facilitate installing extra car-parking spaces in the adjacent Herbert Road car park.

Residents of the area had objected to the vote on that particular date. They said that it would not include enough time for officials to read all of the submissions made after the public consultation process.

The residents will now address a meeting of Bray Municipal District about their concerns on the evening of Tuesday, March 6.

Meanwhile, the group received documents from the Office of the Information Commissioner showing that the council had tried without success to purchase a second house in the area.
