Labour selection convention
THE Labour Party has cancelled its selection convention which was due to take place this week.
The convention, which was due to take place tomorrow (Thursday), has been cancelled due to the expectation of severe weather. The party said it has cancelled the event to limit ‘non essential travel in the event of severe cold, frost and snow’.
The convention will determine the candidate the party will put forward to contest the election. Jack O’Connor, former General President of SIPTU has put his name forward for selection.
