Date for the Diary: Classical Piano Delights at Tinakilly takes place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, in Tinakilly Country House with Deborah Armstrong, back by popular demand. Tickets €25, which cover the recital and afternoon tea, are available from the parish office, Fleurtique, and the Travel Boutique.

World Meeting Of Families – Get Involved: As you are probably aware by now, Dublin, has been chosen by Pope Francis to host the next World Meeting of families in August 2018. Families from all over the world will gather in Dublin from August 21 to August 26 WMOF2018 will include the daily celebratio­n of Mass, a festival of families’ event, exhibition­s, cultural events, musical performanc­es and events around the country. Many Volunteers are needed to successful­ly host an event of such magnitude.

Host families for pilgrims from around the world are also needed. Please see the poster on the notice board in the church porch for further details. If you would like to become involved, but do not have access to a computer, call in to the parish office on Monday OR Friday morning from 10 a.m. to midday where we will be happy to guide you through the process or help you to complete an applicatio­n online.

Let’s Talk Family: As part of our preparatio­n for the World meeting of families and for the six weeks of Lent, you are invited to attend the third of the six-week sessions called ‘Let’s talk family.’ which continues next Monday and on Mondays March 12, 19 and 26 in St Fergal’s Parish from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Lenten Talks: Fr John, Fr Ben and their team invite you to join them for a series of four talks this Lent. The topics covered will be as follows: Mark’s Gospel (as this is the year of Mark), The Passion, The Paschal Mystery, Why did Jesus die?, and the Resurrecti­on. These will take place tomorrow (Thursday) and on Thursdays March 8, 15 and 22 in the Side Chapel of the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. nightly (prompt start and finish). Stations of the Cross during Lent: Tomorrow (Thursday) at 7 p.m. replacing Evening Mass; Thursday, March 15, at 7 p.m. replacing Evening Mass; and Thursday, March 22, at 7 p.m. replacing Evening Mass.

Lourdes Pilgrimage September 7 to September 12: The parish will once again join the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes in September. The fully inclusive price is €739 – Single Room Supplement is €155 – €180 and is subject to availabili­ty. Instalment­s accepted. This Programme is based on the Joy of Love (Pope Francis) and is a gentle approach to looking a little more closely at what love looks like in the context of family. Using engaging short videos, animations and activities to encourage discussion, it will offer families, parishes and wider society an opportunit­y to think about our vision and hopes for family and marriage, and a chance to rediscover the gift that family is to the world. OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE

Hospitalit­y This Sunday: Will be hosted by Team D Novena of Grace: The Novena of Grace will take place from this Sunday to Monday, March 12, Novena prayers will be said at all Masses. Prayer leaflets will be available in the church.

Divine Mercy Mass: Will take place this Friday March at 8 p.m. in our church.

Communion Mass: The seventh Do This in Memory Communion Mass will take place this Sunday at 10.30 a.m. in our church.

Church gate collection: The church gate collection this weekend is in aid of the local Conference of St Vincent de Paul. February’s collection amounted to €1,186. Thank you for your continued support.

Bray and Enniskerry Pastoral Area Early Morning Mass: In addition to the normal weekday Mass time in St Fergal’s, Holy Redeemer, Queen of Peace and St Mary’s Enniskerry, Mass will be celebrated at 7.30 a.m. Monday to Friday in St Fergal’s during Lent.

Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes: Bookings for our Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes are now being taken in Villa Pacis (weekdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.).

Annual Collection for ACCORD: The recent collection for ACCORD amounted to €1,386. Thank you for your generous support.

QOP YOUTH CLUB

There are four entries in the Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club talent competitio­n going forward to the final. They are A. J. the male singer, Pearse a male singer, Abby and Ava the singers with special sound effects, and dancers Niambh, Amy, and Sofie. Elaine and Emer were the judges, and Paul was the compere.

DIVING CLUB

Saoirse, Cormac, and Stephen were in the first group to avail of free snorkel training provided by Bray Divers Sub-aqua club in Shoreline swimming pool. The training session went very well, and next week it will be more advanced to include rescue techniques.

CUALANN SOCIETY

Joan Kavanagh will be the guest speaker for the Thursday, March 15, 8 p.m. meeting of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, society in the Royal Hotel, Bray, at which she will present her lecture ‘Glendaloug­h through the eyes of a camera’ – all welcome, visitors €5.
