The play is the culmination of months of work between the two schools, where TY students along with Mr Rice, Ms Doran and Mr Ó Súilleabháin rehearsed the play with the Newtown students every week, which is then performed as part of the celebrations of Seachtain na Gaeilge.

For the past six years, Coláiste Chraobh Abhann and Newtown Primary School have worked on this exciting cross-schools Irish drama project, where TY students work on props, music and costumes, while the primary students act in an original Irish play based on an Irish myth or legend.

Parents, staff, students and family members all attended the show last Thursday morning and were thoroughly entertained by the wonderful acting from the fourth class students. CCA Vice Principal Ms Buckley and Newtown Principal, Ms Dempsey highly commended the production, praising the students for their confidence on stage and their fluency in speaking the Irish language, before presenting the actors with certs of participation.
