Three recent deaths

-

It has been a tough couple of weeks in the community with three local deaths sadly.

On March 9, Master Mariner (Retired) Edward Anthony (Tony) O’Grady, late of Ballybawn Cottages, Kilmacanogue, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Ballygunner, Co. Waterford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St Vincent’s University Hospital. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Fóla, Tara, sons Tony and Paul, their mother Barbara, grandson Aran, granddaughters Kerri-Ann, Melissa, Aoife and Fiona, extended family and friends. Tony was very proud of his country and flew the Tricolour on his flagpole outside his house in Ballybawn on many occasions and was well known in the community. His Requiem Mass took place on Tuesday (March 13) in Ballygunner followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. RIP Tony.

More sad news was to follow on Tuesday the 12th when Kathleen (Kitty) Delamere (née Connors) of Upper Calary, slipped away peacefully in St Vincent’s University Hospital. Kitty was the beloved wife of the late George and dearly loved mother of Isaac and Paul, cherished Nana of Adam, Ben, Dawson and Ruby, caring motherin-law of Michelle and Ann Marie, much loved sister of Mick and Moll and will also be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. Her removal took place on Thursday (15th) to Calary Parish Church for a Funeral Service followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard. Rest in peace Kitty and deepest sympathy from the community of Calary and Kilmacanogue.

More sad news came on Thursday, March 15, when Richard (Dick) Pugh, of Bray but formerly Kilmacanogue (late AGS) passed away peacefully at St Michael’s Hospital. He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife Mary, children Martin, Lil and Ellen, son-in-law Aidan, grandchildren Hannah, Oonagh, Maeve and Órla, brother Martin, sister Terry, extended family and friends and his many friends and neighbours in Kilmacanogue. His Funeral Mass took place on Tuesday morning (20th) in St Mochonog’s Church and followed by interment in adjoining cemetery. May he rest in peace.
