Parking at Holy Redeemer: From Monday to Friday the Holy Redeemer car park is free for Mass goers from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. This is also true of Holy Days, Special Church services such as funerals, weddings, First Holy Communions and Confirmati­ons etc. Please ensure you park in the area closest to the Village Gate Arcade to avail of this.

Lenten Talks: Fr John, Fr Ben and their team invite you to join them for a series of talks this Lent. The final topic covered will be: Mark’s Gospel (as this is the year of Mark), The Resurrecti­on. This will take place tomorrow (Thursday) in the Side Chapel of the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. nightly (prompt start and finish). Trócaire: Trócaire boxes are now available in the church porch and the tables around the church.

Lourdes Pilgrimage September 7 to September 12: The parish will once again join the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes in September. Young at Heart Dinners: Unfortunat­ely due to the cold weather the Young at Heart dinners will not resume till further notice.

Wicklow Dementia Support: St Peter’s Parish Hall every Monday from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Monday Club is a social club for people with memory loss and their family carers. New Pilot Project – ‘Meet and Eat’: This social programme aims to target older adults, more socially isolated, living alone, in particular those more vulnerable due to physical, mental or cognitive impairment.

Lenten Let’s Talk Family: As part of our preparatio­n for the World meeting of families and for the six weeks of Lent, you are invited to attend a six-week session called Let’s Talk Family. This Programme is based on the Joy of Love (Pope Francis) and is a gentle approach to looking a little more closely at what love looks like in the context of family. Using engaging short videos, animations and activities to encourage discussion, it will offer families, parishes and wider society an opportunit­y to think about our vision and hopes for family and marriage, and a chance to rediscover the gift that family is to the world.

Bray and Enniskerry Pastoral Area Early Morning Mass: In addition to the normal weekday Mass time in St Fergal’s, Holy Redeemer, Queen of Peace and St Mary’s Enniskerry, Mass will be celebrated at 7.30 a.m. Monday to Friday in St Fergal’s during Lent.

Holy Week Timetable: Palm Sunday – March 25: 6.30 p.m. – Vigil Mass (Saturday); 10.30 a.m. midday. Palms will be blessed at all Masses. Holy Thursday – March 29: 7 p.m. – Mass of the Lord’s Supper followed by Adoration at the Altar of Repose till midnight. Good Friday – A day of Fast and Abstinence.10 a.m. – Stations of the Cross to Bray Head will commence in the church. Stations will continue in the church for those unable to go Bray Head; 3 p.m. – Solemn Celebratio­n of the Lord’s Passion. Holy Saturday: 9 p.m. – Vigil Mass followed by Perpetual Adoration. Easter Sunday Masses: 10.30 a.m. and midday; Easter Week Masses: 10.30 a.m. daily.

Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes: Bookings for our Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes are now being taken in Villa Pacis (weekdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.).

Legion of Mary: The Legion of Mary would like to request donations of Catholic magazines, these can be left at the back of the church. The residents in the local nursing homes are very appreciati­ve to receive these magazines. We would also welcome new members. Our meetings take place on Thursday mornings at 11 a.m. in Villa Pacis.

QOP YOUTH CLUB

Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club will not be open on Friday the 23rd because the leaders will be away on a training weekend. There will be no club function on Good Friday and the club will be open on Friday, April 6, when a night walk in Glendaloug­h will be organised.

DIVING CLUB

Bray Divers will be accepting new trainee divers for training courses to begin immediatel­y after Easter. Courses are tailor made to suit individual candidates and are run by qualified instructor­s. Qualificat­ions gained will have internatio­nal recognitio­n. For more informatio­n call Albert at 087 6756439 and you could be an expert diver this summer.

CUALANN SOCIETY

Last Thursday night Joan Kavanagh was the guest speaker for the March meeting of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, at 8 p.m. in the Royal Hotel, Bray, at which she presented her illustrate­d lecture ‘Glendaloug­h through the eyes of a camera.’.

The society will also present two free lectures look back at past Easters in Bray. This Friday James Scannell will present his talk looking back at ‘Easter 1918 in Bray’ at 11.30 a.m. in Bray Library, Eglinton Road, Bray. All welcome – admission free. A week later on Thursday, March 29, James will present his talk looking back at ‘Easter 1943 in Bray, Co. Wicklow’ in Ballywaltr­im Library, Boghall Road, Bray, All welcome – admission free.

The Bray Cualann Historical Society extends its congratula­tions to John Lennon, a past president of the Rathmichae­l Historical Society, on the launch recently of his book ‘Main Street, A History of the Heart of Dundrum’ by Minister Josepha Madigan in the Holy Cross Parish Centre, Main Street, Dundrum.
