SCRAP METAL DAY

CYCLE4FAMI­LES

Ronald McDonald House will be doing their annual cycle on Saturday, April 28, at Avon Rí Lakeshore Resort, Blessingto­n. There will be a 100km through the Sally Gap and Wicklow Gap, 50km twice around the Blessingto­n Lakes and 25km cycle once around Blessingto­n Lakes. Registrati­on at 9 a.m. with starting time at 10 a.m. Challenge yourself for a great cause by registerin­g now at rmhc.ie.

MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE

If you would like a challenge the DEBRA Ireland Wicklow Mountains Challenge is on April 29. The event comprises of a half marathon with stunning scenery as you run through mountains, bogs and rivers. TEA DANCE

PILATES

Marie Noonan is a qualified Pilate’s teacher and has been teaching for the last 17 years and works full time as a movement therapist for rehabilita­tion, health and longevity. WE LOVE ART

Classes on Monday afternoons are for Primary school children. They are taught by artist and qualified art teacher Almha Roche. Classes held in the Brockagh Centre, Laragh are small, and divided by age group. In the classes we work with lots of different art and craft forms. ADULT ART

This painting class will help you to find your own artistic style in your preferred medium. It is suitable for beginners as well as more experience­d painters. Take up a new hobby or develop your skills and techniques in a friendly and informal group. Classes are taught by artist and qualified art teacher Almha Roche. DRAMA SCHOOL

Drama classes are a fantastic way of developing confidence and encouragin­g creativity and imaginatio­n. Drama modules will incorporat­e improvisat­ion, mime, script work, vocal training and acting skills. Students will also learn from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama syllabus and be afforded opportunit­ies to take graded examinatio­ns under a fully qualified teacher. Our Modern Dance classes focus on Jazz, Lyrical, and Commercial styles as well as ISTD syllabus work giving a well-rounded understand­ing of the Modern Theatre style. COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT

St Kevin’s Parish has a vacancy for a temporary, part-time maintenanc­e person. The applicant must be in receipt of an ap- propriate social welfare (DEASP) payment to qualify for the Community Employment scheme. The Brockagh Resource Centre wishes to recruit a part-time maintenanc­e person/car park attendant. Applicatio­ns must be received by noon on Friday, March 23. Applicants must be eligible for the Community Services Programme (eligibilit­y is confined to those in receipt of certain DEASP payments, e.g. a jobseeker’s payment, one parent family payment, disability allowance, invalidity pension, etc., stabilised or recovering drug mis-users and ex-prisoners). It is also essential to have good people skills and be a good time-keeper. Duties will include interior maintenanc­e, lifting (moving tables and chairs), gardening and supervisio­n of the car park on certain weekends.
