Two soccer teams in action
Two teams in action last weekend. The under-11s faced a tough game against Newtown on Saturday morning and were defeated. However, everyone done their best with some great performances by Seán Sweeney in goals and Oisin Shortt and Joe Kavanagh in defence. Big thanks also to Ryan Lavery, who refereed the game and considering his love of the GAA, he did very well not to call a point when the ball went over the bar.
The seniors returned to action after a five-week layoff on Sunday in Ashford in the Charlie O’Leary Cup. The rustiness showed in the first half as the glens went in 1-0 down at the break. Dan Hill headed an equaliser after the restart but the glens conceded again. After that, Glencormac stepped it up a gear with Sam Kerr, James Delahunty and Nattan Watters all hitting the net for a 4-2 victory. Sam Kerr and
Nattan were also excellent.
