Still stuck in the sinkhole, Roo is reeling from Alf ’s bombshell that her mother is still alive. She has to push it aside, as Alf ’s heart attack symptoms are worsening. Roo has a spark of hope when she hears Alf ’s phone ringing and digs around to find it.

At the surf club, John, Marilyn, Ryder and the others are starting to worry about where Alf and Roo are. Brody and Mason offer to go and check the school.
