PARADE AWARDS PRESENTED

-

Winners of this year’s awards for the St Patrick’s Day Parade gathered at the Town Hall in Bray last week to receive them.

The recipients included overall winners Urban X Hip Hop for their lively dance entry into the parade.

Chamber president Pat Ó Suilleabháin handed out the awards.

The town celebrated St Patrick’s Day in style this year with another fantastic parade through the streets of the town.

From around 2 pm locals and visitors lined the town’s streets. Despite freezing temperatures, some snowflakes and cold wind chill nothing dampened the enthusiasm as visitors were treated to the sights and sounds of marching bands, majorettes, local community, businesses, clubs and schools.

Over 40 groups with 1,500 participants took part in the parade which was an explosion of colour. There were different floats which featured large multicultural elements, music, dance and entertainment all celebrating the spirit of St Patrick

‘We would like to extend a huge thank you to the many volunteers, businesses, families, artists, community groups and clubs that helped to make this year’s festival and parade happen. We could not have done it without you,’ said Mick Glynn, chairman of the festival committee.
