LOCAL Enterprise Office Wicklow will host a workshop aimed at demystifying the process of raising finance for business.

The course takes place at Wicklow County Campus on May 1 from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. It will cost €10 and the trainers will be Lar Burke and Niall Glynn, who will give general information on the types of finance available to small business from lenders such as MFI (Microfinance Ireland) and the mainstream banks and credit unions, to other types of financing such as leasing, invoice discounting, private investment, grants, business angels and crowd funding. Specific information will be given on how loans are assessed, including the type of ratios and ‘what if ’ analysis that is generally applied. The cornerstone of any investment proposition is the Business Plan and time will be spent explaining how to write a credible and convincing business plan with financial projections. The trainers will also give plenty of examples of common reasons loans are refused, and how to appeal refused applications.
