HE knows there is work to do - lots of it - but Dave Mackey feels all is not lost.

With four of the eight league losses seeing his side lose by a single goal, he believes that his side can turn things around once that find that elusive first victory.

With St. Patrick’s Athletic (A), Dundalk (H), Shamrock Rovers (H) and Waterford (A) their next four fixtures, it won’t come easy. But Mackey things a rub of the green could make all the difference as he looks to put a miserable month behind him.

“We’ve had (good) spells in every game.

“We started slowly and they scored early which is very disappoint­ing because we’ve actually been good at defending set-pieces up to now.

“We’re in a situation at the moment where some of the calls are not going for us. This has happened in quite a few games but that’s the nature of football.

“We lost focus for a five minute spell where there’s three goals conceded.

“That killed the game. We’ve a frailty which I have to address very, very quickly.

“A lot of the stuff that’s happening at the moment is actually self-inflicted from our point of view.

“If you go back to a number of games; we conceded two early goals against Pat’s, we conceded two goals in the first half against Sligo. We got back into both games but weren’t able to manage to get a point from those games.”

The Seagulls boss hopes that April will be kinder to his side than its predecesso­r.
