Four fantastic nights on stage
‘JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK’ IN THE CASTLE INN, NEWCASTLE
MODEL Box Productions performed ‘Juno and the Paycock’ over four sold out nights in The Castle Inn, Newcastle.
The highly regarded play by Seán O’Casey was first staged at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin in 1924.
Model Box Productions was established in 2014 and members come from all across the Garden County, from Tinahely to Arklow and Wicklow town al the way to Newtownmountkennedy and Greystones.
Their aim is to bring together persons interested in theatre and drama while encouraging members to develop their creative talents.
Model Box have entered the All Ireland One Act Festival for the last four years and have succeeded in getting through to the finals on three occasions.
‘Juno and the Paycock’ featured a team of 21, including the actors involved and members working backstage.
The play was directed by Kevin Duignan.
Their next big production will be an adaptation of ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens which will take place in The Castle Inn on December 27, 28 and 29.
