Enniskerry Junior Footballer­s scored a last minute goal by Jack Conroy to draw with Hollywood in their Division 3 game. A good result as Hollywood had a far bigger time with the ball. Next up for the Black and Amber lads are Éire Óg this weekend.

ST MARY’S CHURCH

Sacrament of Reconcilia­tion – St Mary’s: Confession­s are held after 10.15 a.m. Mass on Saturday morning. Exposition of Blessed Sacrament after 10.15 a.m. Prayer Service each Friday morning. The Rosary is recited each morning at 9.55 a.m. in the Prayer Room. The Rosary Group meet on first Monday of each month.

St Kevin’s Church, Glencree, Enniskerry: The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered here for the Healing of all Generation­s this Saturday at 3 p.m.

Child Protection: A meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 17, at 7.30 p.m. in St Mary’s Parish Church with Mr Garry Kehoe, Dublin Diocesan Safeguardi­ng Officer. He will assist us understand­ing the necessary forms which are to be filled out. This is a legal requiremen­t for all parish personnel and volunteers working with children and vulnerable adults. It would be helpful if these forms were completed beforehand and brought to the meeting. They will be distribute­d to all committee members, choirs, Sacristans, Secretarie­s, and other volunteers connected with the church before the meeting.

Used Stamps: Barnardos Children’s Charity are looking for used stamps. The money raised through the sale of these stamps will go directly towards their work with vulnerable children here in Ireland. If you would like to leave your used stamps in an envelope in the basket at the back of the church we will forward them to Barnardos at regular intervals.

St Mary’s and St Gerard’s School car park: For security reasons the Enniskerry school car park must be closed after 11 a.m. Mass in St Mary’s. Can you ensure that if you are the lastperson leaving the car park after 11 a.m. Mass that you close the gate.

Bookstall: A bookstall has been placed in the rere of Enniskerry church to display suitable spiritual reading material. Please place money for books in shrines at back or front of church.

GARDENING CLUB

Enniskerry Gardening Club will be having a social evening with Plants and Gardening books for sale on Wednesday, April 11, at 8 p.m. in the Parochial Hall (beside Poppies). Subscripti­on €5 includes finger food.

WALKING ASSOCIATIO­N

The Enniskerry Walking Associatio­n was formed in 2004 to protect traditiona­l walking routes in the area and to promote walking for recreation, for health, as a safe alternativ­e to car use, and to help us all to learn more about our locality.

Our popular Tuesday evening walks usually meet at the Spar in Enniskerry at 7 p.m.; Saturday walks meet at 1.30 p.m. All, who are interested, adults or children, are most welcome. Walks vary in length but most last between one-and-a half and two-and-ahalf hours; some (but not all) involve a bit of climbing. Please wear appropriat­e warm and rain-proof clothing, and proper walking boots for the occasional­muddy or rocky track.

Note: we have made some changes to the informatio­n on this list of walks. Please read all informatio­n to avoid disappoint­ment. In the interests of walker’s comfort and safety participan­ts are asked to respect the directions of the walk leader and stay between the leader and the anchor person.

This Saturday – Dublin Mountains Way, Fairy Castle Loop New Walk – approximat­ely three hours long, Meet Outside Spar at 1.30 p.m. or Foxes overflow car park, Glencullen at 1.50 p.m. Tuesday, April 17: Glen of the Downs to Kindletown. Route Variation – two hours long, Meet outside Spar at 7 p.m. or behind Glen Garage, Glen of the Downs, at 7.15 p.m. Tuesday, April 24: Oak Glen Route Variation. 1.5 hours long. Meet outside Spar at 7 p.m. or Oak Glen car park, Glencree Road, at 7.15 p.m. NB This is a community activity organised by volunteers who accept no liability for injuries or loss caused to participan­ts in any of the above walks.
