-

THE East Coast FM Wicklow-Wide Coffee Morning takes place this Friday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 midday.

This year the coffee morning is 10 years old and in that time has managed to raise over €400,000 for the Cancer Support Centres and the Wicklow Hospice.

Celebrities Shane Byrne, Rosanna Davison, Amanda Brunker, The Swing Cats and many more will be attending the events.

The main venues for the coffee morning are The Grand Hotel in Wicklow, the Arklow Bay, RDA Hall Rathdrum, Mount Usher Ashford, The Parkview Newtown, The Martello Bray, Red Bird Cafe Bray, Kinfishers Enniskerry, the Beach House Greystones, Kavanaghs Roundwood, Lawless Hotel, Aughtrim and the Brockagh Centre in Laragh.

A number of smaller, ‘satelite’ venues, have been arranged by groups, organisations and individuals.

Avoca Community Centre already held their event, with the Halpin Bridge Cafe having a coffee morning on Thursday.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the following Saturday, there will be over 50 satellite events held by workplaces, groups, clubs, banks and more.

On Thursday, April 26, there will be a table quiz at Bray Golf Club hosted by Tommy Greene. For a table email morningshow@eastcoastfm.

The coffee morning is also inviting people to participate in the mini marathon this year on June 3.

They are asking runners, joggers and walkers to join the East Coast FM team and raise as much money and awareness as possible for Wicklow’s cancer services.
