Man obstructed gardaí with his bike

-

A 20-YEAR-OLD man who obstructed gardaí with his mountain bike will have a community service report prepared.

Edward Cranley, 32 Wolfe Tone Square North, Bray, appeared last week at Bray District Court.

The court heard that on April 30, 2017, at 6.30 p.m. in the evening, gardaí were dealing with a road traffic matter on the Southern Cross.

A motorbike was in breach of a number of road traffic matters. As they tried to intercept the vehicle, the defendant placed his mountain bike in front of them. They court heard that Cranley blocked them from dealing with the offender and obstructed them in their duties.

Solicitor Brendan Maloney said that the incident arose out of ‘nonsensical bravado’.

‘ The guards could do without behaviour like that,’ said Judge David Kennedy, adjourning the matter to June 28 for the preparation of the report.
