Greystones reach Metro Cup semis

THE Greystones AFC Senior team have qualified for the semi-finals of the Metro Cup after a thrilling penalty shoot-out win over Malahide United last week

A very tight match ended 0-0 before Karl scored to give the visitors from Greystones the lead in extra-time only for the hosts to bag an equaliser with virtually the last kick of the game.

To their credit, the Greystones lads regrouped and fired themselves through to the last four.

Newbridge Town and Killester United are also through to the last four while the winners of Bluebell United and Liffey Wanderers will claim the fourth spot.
