Kill in car rig house to stay

April 1985.

-

The council admitted a blunder had been made in the planning permission some years ago, to build a house on a right of way used by the people of Greystones for over a century.

A large group of Killincarrig residents met at the site of the half-built house that straddles the traditional right-of-way-, from Killincarrrig to the Pigs Hollow at Crowe Abbey. The meeting on Monday evening was called to get a majority decision from the people as to what line of action should now be taken and to consider what was on offer from the builder, Orlynn Homes.

Cllr John Fox told the people that there had been a heated exchange at Monday’s council meeting.

He said that the ball was now in the residents’ court.
