African Dinner and Talk: We are looking forward to Hannah O’Connor sharing her experiences and plans to travel to South Africa over the summer with Mellon Educate – She will be speaking at this Sunday morning’s 11 a.m. family service. Hannah was on one of our previous parish trips to Uganda some years ago. Also on these trips were Roberta and Jenny Wilkin, who are travelling to Kampala in early May to link up with old friends and to help establish a number of initiatives especially around women’s health, hygiene and welfare.
To support this initiative, Jenny, Roberta, Avril and I are hosting a fundraising dinner in the Rectory this Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets are €20 each, or two tickets for €30. I encourage you to join us for a wonderful evening of stories, opportunities and great food. All money raised will purchase feminine hygiene products for women and girls around Kosovo in Kampala – Baden.
Annual Christ Church Garden Fête: Takes place in the church grounds on Saturday, June 9, A Fête meeting for stallholders and parishioners will take place tonight (Wednesday) at 8 p.m. in the PLC
Youth Club: Junior Shack for Primary School Children meets every Saturday from 6.15 p.m. to 7.15 p.m. up to the end of June. Evening Mass: There will be 7 p.m. Evening Mass today (Wednesday) and on Friday. Tomorrow (Thursday) the 7 p.m. Evening Mass will be replaced by a Liturgy.

Fr John Moses: On the Notice Board in the church Porch there is a letter of appreciation to the parishioners of Holy Redeemer from Fr John Moses and the Parish Pastoral Council of St Peter’s Catholic Church in Minna. Fr John Moses expresses his immense gratitude to everyone for their contributions to cost of the building work in his new parish in Nigeria. Alongside the letter are some photographs that show the progress of construction on the church which he wanted to share with you all.
Confirmation 2017: Please remember in your prayers the 105 young people who will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation this Saturday. May they always feel welcome here in Holy Redeemer Parish. Please note that to Confirmations taking place on Saturday, there will be no. 10 a.m. Morning Mass.

Diocesan Collection This Weekend: This weekend the collection in support of the Dublin Diocesan Students preparing for ordination to the priesthood will take place. It will replace the usual Share Collection. Your support would be very much appreciated.

Pro-Life: There will be a speaker from the Pro-Life Movement speaking at all Masses this weekend.
Vocations Sunday: This Sunday is Vocations Sunday. A collection to support students to the priesthood will take place at all Masses this weekend. It will replace the share collection at all Masses. Your support for this collection is greatly appreciated.
Bugisi: Our twin parish Bugisi would like to thank you all for your generosity in their recent collection. A total of €2,030 was raised. In addition to the collection we sent an additional €600 which was raised through the sale of our Mass cards in the Villa Pacis.
Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes: Bookings for our Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes are now being taken in Villa Pacis (weekdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
Our Lady Queen of Peace summer Project 2018: Our very popular summer project will take place again this July in the Villa Pacis under the supervision of Anne Nolan. Week 1: July 2 to July 6 ; Week 2: July 9 to July 13. Open to children aged eight to 14 years of age. €35 per child per week. QOP YOUTH CLUB
Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club leader Mike was very pleased with the number of members that attended his first session of his outdoor survival training course. Emmet was welcomed back to the club following a short break when he was recharging his batteries. Glendalough night walk was enjoyed by seventeen members, and parents.
Water sports will commence on May 1, and now is the time to check out gear and have it ready in good time.
DIVING CLUB
Junior snorkelers in Bray Divers met following their pool training and lectures to decide the programme for the season. The first of 10 snorkels will be on the first Wednesday in May, and away day trips will be organised later. Assistant leaders will be Ryan and Oisin, who completed the course last season. Tomorrow night (Thursday) the April monthly lecture of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, will take place at 8 p.m. in the Royal Hotel, Main Street, Bray, at which Damien Burke, Irish Jesuit Archive, will present his lecture on ‘Fr William Doyle (Woodbine Willie)’, from Dalkey, who was killed in action in August 1917 while serving as a military chaplain on the Western Front. STEAM TRAIN TRIPS
On Sunday, April 29, the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland will operate ‘The Dublin Riviera’ steam train trip from Dublin to Bray and return with two additional steam trains trips from Bray to Wicklow and return.
The train will depart from Dublin Connolly at 10.30 a.m., arriving in Bray at 11.20 a.m. after which it will undertake two Bray-Wicklow-Bray trips before returning for Dublin at 3.55 p.m. from Bray. The first Bray-WicklowBray train will depart from Bray at 11.25 a.m., arriving in Wicklow at 12.05 p.m., departing from there at 12.40 p.m. and arriving back in Bray at 1.15 p.m. The second Bray-Wicklow-Bray train will depart from Bray ay 1.45 p.m., arriving in Wicklow at 2.20 p.m., departing from there at 3.20 p.m. and arriving back in Bray at 3.50 p.m. before departing for Dublin at 3.55 p.m.
