Folk group donates €5,000 to two charitable organisations
GREYSTONES Folk Group recently made a presentation of €2,585 each to Lakers Sports and Recreation Club and the Kevin Bell Repa- triation Trust. The folk group raised the sum through a sale of held in March in Kilian House Family Resource Centre and a day of busking held last December. Diane Cahill of Lakers was thrilled to accept the donation on behalf of the club, while Colin Bell accepted the funds for the Kevin Bell Trust.
In the sale last month, there were lots of bargains, fashion items, cakes, plants, books, refreshments and more. Lakers is a sports and recreation club for people with an intellectual disability. Colin Bell founded the Kevin Bell Memorial Trust in memory of his son and to help people bring their deceased loved ones home from different countries.
