WSPCA TO HOST ‘ALL ABOUT ANIMALS’
WICKLOW SPCA is gearing up for its ‘All About Animals’ event taking place at Sharpeshill Animal Sanctuary next month.
Taking place on Sunday, May 6, from noon to 5 p.m., it will be officially opened by Minister of State Andrew Doyle and will feature information, education and demonstrations from a variety of groups who work with animals in our community.
Experts will speak about their animal related work in the education tent and then demonstrate the work they carry out with the animals. They will also be available to answer any questions.
Local and national animal organisations will pitch up their own gazebos and share their knowledge. These include Dublin Zoo, Seal Rescue Ireland, Ben Harden Beekeeping, The Donkey Sanctuary, Irish Whale and Dolphin Group, Dogs Trust, Westwind Alpacas, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Wicklow Feral Cats, Golden Eagle Trust, Irish Draught Horses, Irish Sporting Glens, IHWT and Shanaclune Equine Dentistry
Also present at Sharpeshill, near Rathdrum, will be animal photographers, crafters, feed specialists, groomers and animal herbal products. There will be eye-catching displays by the Garda Mounted Unit, Garda Canine Unit, Irish Therapy Dogs and the Revenue Commissioners with their detector dogs.
The day also offers an opportunity to meet dogs, horses, donkeys, alpacas and some of the animals currently being looked after by Wicklow SPCA as they look for their permanent homes.
Free parking will be available adjacent to Wicklow SPCA. Admission is €5 for adults, while children can attend for free.
