Top students battle it out in county skills finals

INTO Skills Challenge County Final - The top pupils in each code, from each area, were invited to compete in the County Skill Tests in the Wicklow GAA Centre of Excellence, Ballinakil­l on Thursday last.

There were wonderful skills on show and every participan­t should be proud of their achievemen­t in reaching the County Skills final.

The top performing pupils in the County Skills tests will have the opportunit­y to represent their school and county during the half time of selected All-Ireland Series games during the summer.

Well done to all the participan­ts and congratula­tions to the lucky winners, enjoy representi­ng the Garden County in Croke Park! County Skills Winners Camogie: Ciara Connolly, Aughrim.

Hurling and Camogie Fixtures For April - Credit Union Cup

The Credit Union Cup has been postponed. The final hurling blitz of the year was scheduled for Friday, April 20.

However, due to the Skills Competitio­n finals taking place on Thursday and the county football Féile starting on Friday, a decision has been taken to postpone the Credit Union Cup.

The Credit Union Cup will be re-arranged for the week beginning Monday, April 30, in Ballinakil­l.

Ronan Keddy, Hurling Officer, Cumann na mBunscol Chill Mhantáin will notify all schools of the re-arranged date, as soon as possible.

Apologies are issued for any inconvenie­nce caused by the change of dates.

Allianz Camogie Blitz

Just a reminder that there is still time to sign up for the last Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Camogie blitz in Wicklow of this school year.

Please let Fiona Ní Shuilleabh­áin, Camogie Officer know by next Monday at the latest.

Schools confirmed so far include Gaelscoil Chill Mhantáin, Gaelscoil an tInbhear Mhóir, Aughrim and St Patrick’s Wicklow town. Would be great to have a few other schools involved.

Third and Fourth Class Boys and Girls Football in May

Third and fourth class boys football on Friday, May 18, at 11.45 a.m. in Bray – One day boys’ ninea-side football blitz.

Third and fourth class girls football take splace on Friday, May 25, at 11.45 a.m. in Bray – One day girls’ nine-a-side football blitz. Sports Day Meeting

June 7 at 8.00 p.m. in Newtownmou­ntkennedy Primary School.

It is imperative that any school participat­ing in Sports Day 2018 is represente­d at this meeting. Sports Day Wednesday, June 13, at 10.00 a.m. in Charleslan­d Sports and Recreation­al Centre.

There are strict age limits for Sports Day.
