Next up Is Kilmac in the last game of the league.

Junior Football - The Junior ‘C’ league gets underway this Thursday evening with an away game to Kilcoole at 7pm. Best of luck to all involved LARAGH

We played An Tochar in a beautiful Saturday evening in the league where a win would leave us safe in Division 2 for another season.

We started the game well and we were four points to no score up after seven minutes.

The scores coming from Eric Olohan John Nolan (free) and two from Myles Conway.

An Tochar started to win a few balls around the pitch and scored 1-02 in the next 15 minutes in between their scores David Miley kicked a lovely point.

We then hit them for three unanswered points from David, Myles and John. They hit us for three before the break, we added another point from a John Nolan free.

Half-time score: 0-09 to 1-05.

After a good chat at half-time we came out flying in the second half. An Tochar did level the game with the first score just after half-time.

Then David Miley put us ahead again nearly straight away they equalised from a close-range free.

After that we took full control off the game we were winning ball all over the pitch.

We scored six points in a row from Dan Power, David Miley, Mark Miley and three from John Nolan (two frees).

In fairness to An Tochar they tried hard and scored two points to keep them in the game but that was their last score with 12 minutes left.

We then scored the goal that killed them off this came after some excellent play the ball ended up with mark Miley who finished it nicely.

We then scored five more points three from John Nolan (2 frees) myles conway and Craig Mccoy. This was a brilliant team performance we everyone putting in 100%. Final score 1-21 to 1-09. What can we say about the support it was unreal with both sides off the pitch full. Every score was applauded and the atmosphere was savage a big thanks to all, this pushes the players on when they hear and see the support.

Next up is Ashford away this Tuesday night. It would be great to get some support down to shout on the lads.

Our juveniles are back training in the field every Wednesday at 6pm. It would be great to get all your kids down.

The Go Games went very well Friday night with some good football displayed by all teams involved. The future is looking very good for Laragh with the amount off players on show Friday night. A big thanks to all who helped out on the night.

A special thanks to all who helped out with Quest on Saturday morning only for the volunteers this event would not happen.

There was no jackpot winner: Noel Murphy, Shillelagh Manor, was the sole match three candidate and procured €100. David Nolan won the promoters prize. The next draw with the jackpot a very attractive €2,400. Just a reminder our lotto requires no bonus number. The memorial Garden at the Fairgreen is in full bloom; dedicated to deceased members, friends and people from the locality and surrounding areas who have passed to their eternal reward.

It is well worth a visit. Its doubtful if anyone will need reminding that the weather gods have not smiled favourably on us in recent months and as a result the name tags on the plants/shrubs are somewhat the worst for wear. If you have dedicated a shrub/plant to a loved one or friend and are in a position to replace the name tag feel free to do so at your convenience.

The Junior ‘A’ football team operating in Division 3 of the league travelled to Leighlinbridge on Friday last and after a useful work out they had to give best to the hosts by the minimum margin; 1-12 to 1-11 the score at the long whistle.

On Friday next, April 27, the lads entertain Hollywood in a Division 3 encounter on the Fairgreen with a 7.15 pm throw in, having already garnered eight league points, they will be hoping to add to that tally. Do come along and offer your support.

League Roundup - We welcomed Hollywood to the Community Field last Thursday evening. We found ourselves on the back foot in the opening 10 minutes as Hollywood raced into a 1-1 to no score lead.

The lads fought back but Hollywood took the half-time lead of 1-6 to 0-4.

A different Coolboy team emerged in the second half and the reliable Michael Gregan saved the day with a last minute goal to level the match at 1-8 a piece.

Thank you to our many supporters who came to the field on a sunny but breezy evening. Our next fixture is at home to Aughrim this Friday at 7.15pm.

Under-14 Hurling Féile Qualifiers - After a series of great performances, our under-14 hurlers fell just short at the last hurdle in their efforts to qualify for the hurling Féile finals.

Bray Emmets opened with a superb performance and a convincing 4-2 to 0-0 win against Luke O’Tooles.

This was followed by another good win over St Pat’s Wicklow, by a scoreline of 2-4 to 1-2.

Our final match against Northern Gaels was a very competitive affair, with Bray taking the lead with a goal in the early stages. Northern Gaels fought back with a series of frees to lead by a point at the break.

There was a goal separating the sides with a few minutes to go and Bray had a number of great chances to equalise, but the Gaels defence stood firm and they went on to win the match and take the only qualifying spot available.

All coaches, parents and supporters present on the day were delighted with the way that the Bray Emmets players had competed.

Team: James Byrne, Cillían Murphy, Fiachra Ó Dúnaí, Conall Butler, Cian Byrne, Finn Tracey, Odhrán Slater-Lavelle, Cathal MacMaoláin, Cillían Ryder, Adam Prunty, Seán Kenny, Shane Baguley, Dara Byrne, Jack Kearney, Jamie Mooney, Ciarán Kelly, Kyle Plunkett, Joshua Butler.

Under-11 Boys Football - Wednesday evening saw Bray Emmets under-11s play their first league match of the season against Donard-The Glen at home.

After a slight delay at the start from the failed showing of the Wicklow referee the game kicked off in very windy but balmy conditions.

Bray elected to play with the big wind the first half and put it to full use with Bray going in at the break 1-5 to nil up.

A quick score after half-time settled them and they coped quite well playing into the wind with a lot of short and accurate passing which saw them outscoring Donard 0-5 to 0-1 the second half.

Overall, the backs worked well together regaining most of their kick outs ,competing tigerishly for the ball and importantly keeping the Donard forwards to one score for the entire game.

Forwards took a short while to settle into the game in the first half with a few early wides but soon got into the swing of it with the help from quality ball from the midfield. Final score: Bray 1-10, Donard 0-1.

Team: Charlie Cloake, Conor O’Sullivan, Brodie McNeill, Joseph Byrne, John McCarthy, Sean Craig, Sean Traynor, Conor Heffernan, Dan Walsh, Lorcan O’Neill, Zac Naughton, Odhran Bell.
