Community in shock following Kieran’s death

-

THE entire community of Kilmacanogue were in shock last Wednesday evening when word reached us that Kieran Doyle had passed away following a brain injury.

What can you say about our friend ‘Doyler’? An absolute gentleman, kind and generous, a great family man and not short on confidence, his untimely and sudden death at just 49 has left his family and greater community heartbroken.

Kieran was the son of the late Mick Doyle and will be deeply missed by his heartbroken wife Yvonne and his adored children Sinéad and Mikey, his loving mother Catherine, sisters Carol and Therèsé, mother-in-law Julia, sisters-in-law, brothers-inlaw, nieces, nephews, extended family, his work colleagues in Kerry Foods and a huge circle of friends.

A huge crowd gathered in Kilmacanogue on Sunday afternoon including plenty from sporting organisations as Kieran had a fantastic love of all sport.

His good friend Christy Fox paid a lovely tribute to Kieran from the altar on Sunday and recalled many stories of ‘Doyler’. His great friend Noel Lawless even travelled from the United States to bid farewell to his childhood pal and enjoyed telling and listening to all the stories about Kieran and he certainly left us all with plenty memories to savour.

As we all know, Kieran was generous in life and generous in death also and donated his organs so that others might live with the blessing his wonderful family and six people have now benefited from this tragedy and ‘ The Doyle’ lives on in other ways now.

No words in this column can express how much we are all going to miss him but nothing to the pain his loving family are feeling now but they are in our thoughts and prayers. Farewell Kieran, Rest in Peace dear friend.
