BRAY WOMAN Audrey Doyle picked up a BAFTA Television Craft Award last week in London for her work as a make-up artist on the TV series Taboo – and more particularly on actor Tom Hardy.

Audrey, a native of Blackrock, has lived in Bray for the past 15 years. Her twin sister Linda and their sister Lorraine were in London for the ceremony and are both proud as punch of the talented woman.

‘We are absolutely thrilled for her,’ said Linda, who lives in nearby Shankill.

The winning team in the make-up and hair design category included Jan Archibald and Erika Okvist.

Audrey is Tom Hardy’s personal make-up artist and is currently working on the shoot of Chasing Fonzo in New Orleans with him. She travelled back to the States the day after receiving her award. On the current project, Hardy plays an older version of gangster Al Capone and Audrey’s work includes applying 25 pieces of prosthetics.

Even though she had come all the way from America, she hadn’t expected to actually win the award last week.

With Hardy being a versatile artist, Audrey has worked with him on projects as diverse as Batman, helping him transform into Bane, and Legend, in which Hardy playing both Kray tiwns. She was shortlisted for an Oscar nomination for her work on that movie.

Audrey studied in IADT Dun Laoghaire and her work has brought her over the world over the course of the past two decades.
