Mass is held in memory of Baby Alannah

-

A Mass to mark the second anniversary of the late baby Alannah was held last Friday evening at the Holy Redeemer in Bray.

The deceased infant girl was found at the Greenstar Recycling plant in Bray on the morning of May 4, 2016.

Staff at the plant were heartbroken to discover the remains of the baby as they worked. Gardai named the child Alannah, meaning ‘dearest child’, and undertaker Mark Kinsella arranged the Mass to ensure that the baby girl is not forgotten.

She was laid to rest in Greystones on the morning of Friday, May 13, 2016. The gardai organised the ceremony presided over by Monsignor Enda Lloyd and Reverend Alan Breen. Local people attended and placed toys and flowers on her grave and staff at Greenstar arranged a headstone.

Despite appeals and investigations by gardaí, nobody has come forward since the sad news that the child had been found by the shocked workers. The baby’s mother or any family member can still contact Superintendent Pat Ward at 01 6665300 or the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111
